Annual Service

A tradition that stretches back generations will continue on Saturday, August 2, when the Old North Church holds its Annual Service, a gathering that has brought former residents, descendants, summer visitors, and friends of the church back to Canaan Street for more than a century.

The annual service has served as both a homecoming and a celebration of the church’s enduring place in the civic and spiritual life of New Hampshire. Standing above the village green in the heart of the Canaan Street Historic District, the church remains closely tied to the history of Noyes Academy, abolitionism, and the independent religious traditions that shaped the region.

This year’s gathering will include music, readings, reflections on the church’s history, and fellowship following the service. Attendees will once again step into a sanctuary that has welcomed worshippers, reformers, educators, and returning families for nearly two centuries.

Additional details, including the service time and program participants, will be announced soon. All are welcome.
